In close collaboration with the City of Los Angeles, ESSENSE allocates a portion of its units to affordable housing. With a diverse range of layouts — including micro-units, studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments — the project is designed to serve a balanced mix of needs and life stages.
The 7,700-square-foot medical center will provide accessible, community-focused care on the ground floor, while 8,600 square feet of retail space will support wellness businesses — including farm-to-table dining, holistic services, and health-oriented shops.
Safety is thoughtfully embedded in the layout. Busy retail outlets with transparent storefronts, well-lit pedestrian pathways, and elevated residential units assisting “eyes on the street”, the design encourages natural surveillance, engagement, and comfort without sacrificing openness.
